Banging on the Pipes

You don't pay the plumber for banging on the pipes. You pay the plumber for knowing where to bang.
It’s a quote I heard today, and it reminded me of conversations I have had with people who needed painting done.

Can you paint your own space? Sure!
Why hire a painter? Because this is what we do, all day, every day. We don’t get distracted by the laundry that needs to get put into the dryer, or the kids that need us to help them. We don’t need to answer phone calls, or get distracted by any other myriad details of running a household.

Do I want to paint my own home? No! Because I have plenty other things to do in my own home, and I know that when I hire a painter, they do just that. They find the holes that need filling, sand, prep, prime, tape and paint, and then clean up after themselves. I know they’ll get the good paint, and even if it costs me $20/gallon more than the deal at the hardware store, it will save me $200 in labour costs for that additional coat that isn’t needed with a quality paint.

They know the order in which things are done, and done right.

They know where to bang on the pipes,… not just how to bang on the pipes.

If I had a dime (inflation…) for every client who said to me “If I knew it could be done in a day, I would have had it done years ago”.

We know where to bang on the pipes. I love that quote.

Need painting done?

I encounter so many folks who are wanting that “small job” done, but they can’t find a painting company who will do a small job.
Ask me. I do small jobs, on the peninsula, anywhere north of McKenzie. Call or text me at 250-885-0622, and I will come over to give you an estimate. And if I am not the person for your project, I have a whole network of reputable painters to whom I can refer. I know my limitations, and I know my strengths, and both of those are at your disposal.

Feline Inspectors

While I work there are often pets who keep a close eye on what I’m doing.

In this case, cats. I love having these curious felines around. They stay far enough away to not get paint all over themselves, but they do want to be sure I am doing a good job.

And when I come home, my own cat, my 17 year old super senior Chinook, needs to be sure that he is still my number 1:
